Working with Benaiah, from a Client’s Perspective
Michelle sat down with Dahua Group’s Robert Curlewis, who is working with us on the Menange Park Project, to find out his thoughts on Benaiah.
What do you like about working with Benaiah?
Benaiah is pretty intuitive about the next steps in a project. They’ve always got an eye on the deadline, which is nice. They’re a safe pair of hands. As a development manager it's hard to do everything yourself but you have to have a little bit of knowledge about lots of things. Benaiah makes it easy to rely on them for the management of construction and other Project Management bits. It's just easy to work with them.
How would you describe Benaiah in 10 words or less?
Hungry.
Outcome focused.
Whatever it takes to get there.
What have you noticed about Benaiah’s culture?
Easy to get along with. They are comfortable in a lot of situations; from working with contractors who can be quite bolshy to very good communicators in council meetings. That’s the people that Ben has hired.
How have you seen Benaiah’s core values in practice?
Integrity and accountability - that sounds right. When Benaiah says they'll do something, they do. Which is really good and I suppose that comes into the reliability I mentioned earlier. You can rely on Benaiah to get the job done on time and on budget. Honesty - if something can’t be done, they'll tell you how it's not going to be done. They will be clear about it, give you timeframes and say how they are going to fix it, rather than just ‘here’s the problem’.
Is there a particular milestone you're looking forward to being a part of with Benaiah?
There's a couple of DA’s i'm looking forward to getting approved - about 150 lots and then getting started on construction of the first stage of Menangle Park.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I've worked with Ben for years. When I heard Benaiah was the PM on this project, I thought ‘safe hands’. Very happy to keep working with Ben, he’s put a good team together.
