Five Minutes with Ben

Ben is our beloved Intern. Starting early 2020 he hit the ground running with support work for the Menangle Park projects and has jumped from strength to strength.

What brought you to Benaiah?

When I first heard about Benaiah, I was in my third year of University looking to gain valuable industry experience and begin my career in the construction industry. Benaiah stood out to me due to the wide range of projects available to work on such as open space, civil infrastructure and subdivision works. Looking back, this was a great decision as during my time here I have been exposed to a wide range of civil engineering disciplines and liased with Council, Clients and Contractors.

What projects have you worked on with Benaiah so far?

In my time at Benaiah I have had the opportunity to aid in the Project Management and Superintendency of various subdivision and infrastructure projects. These include Menangle Park Stages 1, 2A & 2B, Brick Kiln Park, Badgally Rd and Jordan Springs East. Currently, I am aiding in the management of major earthworks required for the Menangle Park Stage 1 Subdivision as well as the nearby Cummins Road Roundabout, these are the largest scale projects I have worked on to date and pose their own set of unique challenges to tackle.

What do you love about working at Benaiah?

Company culture! There’s always something to look forward to during the week ranging from pub lunches, balcony BBQ’s or team outings. The fantastic working environment with consistent team building and professional training opportunities has provided a valuable learning experience exposing me to new tasks and situations every day. There’s rarely a boring day at Benaiah!

What kind of project would you love to work on in the future and why?
In the near future I would love to manage a subdivision project from the planning stage to construction, however I look forward to any project that provides ample challenge and opportunity to develop my skills within the construction industry.

What do your weekends look like?

Working at Benaiah and attending full time university means much of my weekends are dedicated to my studies. However where available, I love to spend my time outdoors exploring new locations, staying active on the push bike/at the gym and eating great food with good company.
